In the year 2008, a tiny yet unheard of seed was planted by a group of enthusiastic primary eye care providers in the country.This seed took root in a fertile soil grew to be a sapling. Today it is a healthy and a strong tree which is providing shades all over this island encompassing the field of Optometry and Orthoptics.This was how Ceylon Council of Optometry and Orthoptics (CCOO) was formed in 2009 which was a national requirement at the time.
